I love cleaver. It is one of the best steak houses in Vegas. The service and food are all amazing. Highly recommend the dirty martini with bleu cheese olives and the ribeye with brussel sprouts and the chopped salad!
My husband & I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Cleaver and what an exceptional meal! I am usually that person that plans what I'm going to eat before we get to the restaurant, but this time it was a surprise so I didn't have any expectations in advance. The location is off strip which is nice, tucked in a plaza on Paradise. The entrance has a cool speakeasy vibe and the decor is incredible.. definitely feels exclusive and regal. The service was of course outstanding and you always have someone checking in on you.. they definitely know how to make you feel important which is something we love when we treat ourselves to a nice dinner. The customizations you can create for your meal are insane.. I've never been anywhere like it! It makes you want to keep coming back to try new combinations of everything! For the Surf & Turf section of the menu you can pick your protein, then add on a butter, crust, sauce, and additional toppings. I was even able to try some of the sauces since I was having trouble choosing. The waitress even recommended specific combinations of everything which was really helpful. My husband ordered the pork chop with a Parmesan balsamic crust.. and OMG it was mouth wateringly delicious. I still have cravings for that pork chop to this day.. what a perfect savory combo! I got the New York Strip with Black Garlic butter and their steak sauce which was exceptional. Even though we didn't order cocktails, they had a very impressive list of specialties that I can't wait to try when we go next time.. For sides we ordered the mushroom risotto which was 10/10 and the cauliflower au gratin. Since I can't have potatoes I was super excited to tried the cauliflower twist this dish, but it wasn't what I was expecting. The cauliflower just tasted like it was steamed with some melted cheese poured on top, nothing special at all. My only complaint of the meal really.. I will opt to try the Brussel Sprouts next time. :) To our surprise they did send out a complimentary fresh baked chocolate chip cookie dish which was super tasty... but we also ordered the coconut passionfruit tart which stole the show!! I would come back and just order a whole tart if I could.. It was unforgettable!
Wonderful food and very happy with our choice to try this place. Our service was amazing and shout out to Ryan for taking care of the 8 of us which included 4 children under 6! Great date place as well!!
Came here with a friend for my birthday dinner. It was SOO good! Everything we ordered was so perfectly seasoned and flavored, there was nothing you needed to add to it at all. The restaurant itself is perfect for a date night or an intimate dinner for you and a friend. Nothing was too loud. Lights were dim, but not too much. We started off with the House Bread and Calamari for appetizers. The bread was good, but my goodness the sauce they had with the calamari was so bomb! I was ready to come back simply off that. For drinks we ordered the Mexican Firing Squad, which was like a pomegranate margarita. So good and flavorful, and not too strong. For our entree, we ordered the Porter House for two with the truffle butter and asked them to cut it up for us. The steak was so tender and juicy. For sides we got the Mushroom Risotto, Broccolini & Cheddar and Bourbon Shallot Potatoes. As I mentioned above, everything was cooked perfectly, didn't need to add salt or pepper or anything else. Highly recommend coming here. Has def earned the title of my fav steakhouse in Vegas so far!
How have I not already reviewed Cleaver!? This place is excellent! So ambiance - they have a few different areas of the restaurant. Their bar area is 21+ and usually pretty lively and a little brighter. Then they have what I would consider the main dining area which is very dark and moody in a good way with fun paintings you may recognize. Last, which I didn't find out even existed until my most recent visit, is this room that's full of windows and feels like you're inside of a terrarium. Super cool room and felt very spacious! I went here on a double date recently. Their cocktails were good, as they always are, but the only downside is like many bars are experiencing, they were out of chartreuse and unfortunately a decent number of their specialty cocktails have chartreuse in them. Bummer because the first drink I tried to order had this and I was unaware before ordering, but I ended up going with a Pimm's Cup and it was still quite good. Our whole table enjoyed their drinks. For food, we split a medium rare tomahawk ribeye for the table. It was really tasty and they sliced it nicely for us. I had bearnaise to go with it and my boyfriend had the chimichurri. Although he thought it was good, he definitely preferred the typical ribeye that we order over the tomahawk. We also tried the bread, I felt like it was okay, nothing to write home about. As for sides, we shared the macaroni and cheese with pork belly, the spinach, the brussel sprouts, and the baked potato. All of those were good, although I think the latter two were my favorite. The macaroni and cheese is solid, but I think I prefer the one at their sister restaurant Herbs and Rye. Although we were too full for dessert this time, I've had their donuts in the past and they were delicious! Definitely don't sleep on this restaurant and try to get a reservation if you can. I made ours fairly short notice and still was able to get a good dining time, but when we arrived they were busy so I don't know if they would have been able to squeeze us in as walk-ins.
We have been to Cleaver in the past and also to their sister restaurant Herbs & Rye. Both enjoyable experiences with good food. The wife, the brother and sister in law, and the sister and I were in Las Vegas to see the B-52's at the Venetian. BTW, an excellent show with the great hits of that funky band. The brother in law made a reservation at Cleaver for us to have before the concert. This is such a cool, trendy place and while it may remind you of an old time steak house, the vibe is certainly more modern. They have a huge bar that is suitable for dining and they have plenty of tables for many diners. At 5pm on a Friday, the place was hopping and it was good that we had a reservation. The restaurant is hidden within a small strip mall and you would not believe such a good restaurant is located here. We sat down and the sister in law immediately ordered the steak tartare and the calamari appetizers for the table. We ordered some cocktails as well. The appetizers came out quickly. The steak tartare was good and we all enjoyed it, except the sister who does not like red meat. What is she going to eat at this steak house??? Her problem, not ours. Anyway, the calamari, and I hate to use this phrase, but IS TO DIE FOR. It is so good and combined with the fantastic sauce and the shishuto peppers, is out of this world yummy. Get it. Get it NOW! As we were enjoying our apps and cocktails, we ordered our entrees. For me, I chose to go with the double cut pork chop with a side of the steak fries. The wife ordered the filet mignon and the sister ordered the grilled octopus. The interesting thing about placing my order for the pork chop was that I requested medium rare and the server said they can only cook it medium and above. I questioned him, as we have not had to deal with undercooked pork causing trichinosis since the 1980s. I reluctantly ordered the pork chop medium and should have moved on to beef instead. As predicted, the chop came out less juicy than I would have preferred and leaned toward dry. I decided not to deal with it and choked it down. Not my favorite part of the meal, but other facets of the meal made it an overall good experience. The pork itself gets two stars due to the dryness, though the sauce and some parts that were not dehydrated were pretty good. Would have been awesome cooked to medium rare! I'd take the trichinosis risk, I really would. The fries were really good. Crispy, tasty, nice garlic aioli on the side. The wife liked the filet, the second time she got it since the first one was clearly medium or more and the second one was a perfect medium rare. The sister loved her grilled octopus. It is actually an appetizer, but she got it as her main. Good choice as I tried a piece and it was excellent. I would get as an appetizer next time. The service was excellent and the manager came by to apologize about the over cooked filet, but since they corrected it quickly and without any fuss, we were already past thinking about it. But that was nice of her to come by. Next time I will go back to the beef choices and avoid the dry pork. Go. Eat Well. HAVE FUN!! Added: I forgot about the happy hour where the steaks are at much reduced prices. When we were there, the happy hour was all night, but I am not sure how that timing works on any given day. Take a look at the menu pictures and see the second price on each meat entree, next to a cleaver, and that is the happy hour price. Really awesome savings. You may want to call them to see when they have this offering.
Amazing cocktails, melt in your mouth steaks, and savory sides. Our server Sam was incredibly attentive and made excellent recommendations. Complimentary champagne and dessert for our birthday celebration topped off a wonderful meal. Worth every penny!
We loved the decor. Sam was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Probably the best steak & lobster I've ever tried - and that was my husband's order (lol)! I got the cherry lamb chops and it was so delicious. For me the winning dish of the evening had to be the beef tartar on sourdough. The bone marrow with blueberry compote was a little underwhelming in comparison to the beef tartar. My sister thought the tuna tartar was better, however aside from the interesting seasoned puffed chips that came with the tuna, it tasted like other tuna tartar I've tried in the past. We were celebrating my dad's and husband's birthdays. They both got the surf & turf and were able to switch the meat to their preference. I was gonna take a star off for no changing table in the bathroom, but just remembering the beef tartar makes me a happy camper.
Amazing experience, server Juan top notch. Went during happy hour but would def go back & pay full price
Late review ! Came here last year for my birthday and had the best experience. From the hosts to the barkeep to service. Back in Vegas and taking names! EDUARDO @ bar making fabulous drinks. Time for dinner and CARL ( "one word from Philippines") is AHHHHHMAZING! Attentive, patient and able to read the room. Nothing like a sever who keeps checking in and lingering and CARL isn't that guy. His timing is spot on!! Calamari, burata for starter was well flavored, presented and fresh. Main was PORTERHOUSE for TWO cooked medium was MOIST & simply delicious. The Malbec matched well and for dessert there was cheesecake. I wasn't a fan of the cheesecake so CARL- being a great listener brought over a vanilla bean ice cream and fresh out the oven cookie to enjoy. Great way to end this experience! The above and beyond SERVICE is why I'm back from NYC ! Thanks guys !!
